Living in the Spirit is a simple and practical way to live. It is really not that hard to do, but Satan wants us to think otherwise. If we are pure in heart, we can see the beauty and simplicity of walking with the Holy Spirit. Last Sunday, I learned a new hymn during our Bilingual Worship Service, “I’ll Go Where You Want Me to Go”, thanks to our Music Minister, Doris Shin, who had chosen the hymn. The lyrics say, “I’ll go where You want me to go, dear Lord, O’er mountain or plain or sea. I’ll say what You want me to say, dear Lord, I’ll be what You want me to be.” The secret of spirituality is to submit to the guidance of the Holy Spirit moment by moment in our daily living. We don’t have to look for some dramatic incidents in order to exercise obedience to God. As a matter of fact, if we do not obey God in the little things in our daily life, we will most likely fail to obey Him in the big things. Let me illustrate this with a personal story. I was buying a few used books in the Irvine Public Library this past week. The cashier gave me five dollars too much in change. I looked at the change and immediately returned a five dollar bill to her. My heart was so sure that the Lord does not want me to keep the five dollars because it was not mine. I did not hear a voice from God. I did not need to quote Scriptures to support my action. Yet I knew in my heart that I was led by the Holy Spirit. Satan wants us to think that God does not care about our little sinful actions. That is a lie. Let us not be deceived. Indeed God cares about every little detail in our life. Are you willing to go where He wants you to go? Will you say what He wants you to say? And will you be what He wants you to be? That is the true meaning of living by the Spirit.

靠聖靈而活是既簡單又實際的生活方式. 其實並不難做到, 可是撒但要我們有不同的想法. 如果我們是個清心的人, 我們就會看得出與聖靈同行的美麗和簡潔. 上星期我在雙語堂學了一首新的詩歌, 歌名是“任主差派”. 謝謝我們的音樂主任冼黃絮選了這首歌曲. 歌詞說,“我要去主要我去的地方, 或經高山或隔重洋; 我要講主要我講的言語, 我要做主要我做的事情.” 屬靈的秘訣就是在日常生活中每時每刻都要順服聖靈的引導. 我們不用等到一些戲劇性的事情發生才去表現出對神的服從. 事實上, 如果我們在日常生活中微小的事情上都不能服從神, 在較大的事情上就更難服從神了. 讓我用我個人的一個故事舉個例子來說明. 上星期我在爾灣公眾圖書館買了幾本舊書. 收銀員找錢給我的時候多給了我五元. 我一看這些錢, 馬上就把一張五元鈔票還給她. 我心中非常清楚神不要我貪圖那不屬於我的錢. 當時我沒有聽見神的聲音, 我也不用尋找聖經的金句來支持我的行動. 但在我的心底裏面, 我知道我是靠著聖靈而行的.  撒但要我們相信, 上帝並不介意我們去犯細小的罪過; 這是撒但的謊言, 我們千萬不要上當.  其實, 神注意我們生活當中的每一個細節. 你願意去主要你去的地方嗎? 你要講主要你講的言語嗎? 你要做主要你做的事情嗎? 這就是靠聖靈而活真正的意義.
