As I was going through my files on parenting, I found a list of American families’ sweet memories. Allow me to share with you the top 10 most memorable things Americans think of in relation to their families:
- My parents take time to listen to me. Their eyes would focus on me as I talked to them.
- My parents hugged me frequently.
- My parents let me express my point of view.
- My family went camping together.
- My parents took me to church to worship God and they let me lean upon their shoulders.
- My parents always carried a picture of each family member in their wallets.
- My parents made efforts to ensure that every kid is included in the family picture.
- My parents would hang the pictures of every one of their children on the Christmas tree.
- I watched my parents praying for me. Even though I caused trouble, they still prayed for me persistently.
- My parents wrote up “A story of your birth” and they read it to me on my birthday.
Each family has its own way of creating a spiritual legacy. May God grant you wisdom to create yours! Remember, “Faith begins at home”. |
