minIster doris shin

CBCCOC is truly blessed to have an accomplished musician and choir director, Doris Shin, as its Minister of  Music.  Doris has enthusiastically directed our music ministry with excellence since 1993, when she was appointed by our senior and founding Pastor James Chiu.  Besides directing and training our mixed voice adult choir every year, she also conducts the women's and men's ensembles. In this ministry capacity, Doris is responsible for our annual Christmas Program, enabling the music of well known composers and the harmony of 100 adult, youth and children voices to tell the story of Jesus’ birth and bring the message of salvation to our community.

Doris earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Hong Kong Baptist University in 1976, her Teaching Diploma from Northcote College of Education in 1984, and her Performer's Diploma of Solo Singing from Trinity College of Music, London in 1985. She also teaches piano and voice lessons, and remains an active member of the California Music Teacher’s Association.  Her vision for music ministry, passion for excellence, and skilled training allows our church to minister to others through our music program.
